The arms of John
                                              Jacob Patterson
The black bat symbolizes strength in the darkness. The three blood drops signify the future of the Patterson bloodline and hearkens back to the original Patterson Coat of Arms which displayed a Pelican in Piety, piercing its chest, and feeding its chicks its own blood.

The Axe is a symbol of the military service of John Patterson, Nathan Patterson, and John Jacob Patterson.

Motto: Vitrus In Umbra (Strength In Shadow)

Those who may bear these arms include: John Jay Patterson, John Jacob Patterson, Nathan Andrew Patterson, Talan Patterson, Cowen Patterson, Braylen Patterson, and the eldest male descendants following this line of succession.
