These
arms are based
on the arms of
Frederick Henry
McClurg and
Timothy Michael
McClurg and are
differenced as
new arms for
Kelly E.
McClurg: The
ravens refer to
a Scottish story
in which a
widow's sons by
three different
men performed
archery to show
prowess with
weapons for
Robert the Bruce
while he was on
the run from the
English. The
brother's names
were Murdoch,
McKie and
McClurg. The
brothers joined
The Bruce's army
until he became
Robert I, King
of Scotland.

The
book with quill
has a dual
meaning because
it is a charge
taken from her
father's crest
(Timothy Michael
McClurg) and
alludes to Ms
McClurg's chosen
profession as a
journalist. The
quill pen is
Azure because it
is her favorite
colour.
Ms McClurg was
born in Erie, PA
to Mr. Timothy
Michael and
Rhonda Lynn
(Johnson)
McClurg. She has
spent most of
her life in
Madison, WI. Ms
McClurg has been
an active
volunteer in
several
organizations.
Additionally she
has always
written stories,
poems and
articles for the
local
newspapers. Ms
McClurg
graduated with a
BA in Journalism
and English with
a Creative
Writing Option
from the
University of
Wisconsin,
Madison.
The arms were
designed with
the gracious
assistance of
the IAAH. They
are emblazoned
by Terry Sarros.
