Registered: The International Register of Arms, 7th December 2007. Registration No. 0129.

Arms: Argent, a saltire Azure, in chief and in each flank an edock leaf slipped Vert and in base a mullet Sable, on a chief Gules three pallets Or each charged with a mullet of the Fourth, the saltire charged of a crescent Or for difference.

Crest: A pair of scales Or.

Motto: Jus Bonum Est

Matriculated: Public Register of All Arms and Bearings in Scotland on January 23, 1980 and recorded in Volume 64, folio 22, on the 7th February 1980, signed by Lyon Clerk Malcom R. Innes of Edengight.

Grant: to the armiger’s great, great, great, great granffather: [Interlocutor dated August 7, 1979, by Sir James Monteith Grant, Lord Lyon King of Arms] patent issued February 7, 1980, recorded at Volume 63, Folio 35, Public Register of All Arms and Bearings in Scotland, signed by Lord Lyon.

The crescent for difference reflects the status as the younger son in the senior most line of descent from the original grantee of the Arms, in this case John Marshall, Chief Justice of the United States 1801-1835.

The armiger is a Knight jure sanguinis of The Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St. George, Madrid 1991; a Commander of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (conferred 1986) and a Hereditary Member of the Society of the Cincinnati.

The armiger served as Judge Presiding of the Fourteenth Judicial District Court of
Texas 1981-2000 and this service is the basis for the motto and the crest granted by the Lord Lyon.

At the request of Dr. Conrad Swan, then York Herald of Arms and Chief Herald of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem, the armiger applied for and received an English grant of arms viz:
Arms: Argent on a Saltire Azure between three Edock leaves slipped Vert a Crescent Or and in base a Mullet Sable on a Chief Gules three Pallets Or each charged with a Mullet also Sable. Crest: Within a Coronet comprising four Strawberry leaves and between them on the rim as many sets of S's linked in threes a pair of Scales and their stand all in Gold. The patent is signed as of March 10, 1983 by A. Colin Cole, Garter; Anthony Wagner, Clarenceaux; and J. P. Brooke-Little, Norroy & Ulster Kings of Arms. The warrant was granted April 23, 1981.
