The crest, a
wolf’s head,
symbolizes
ancestral
vigilance,
loyalty, and
resilience,
especially within
the mountainous
regions of the
Balkans. The
family motto, “Бог
и Вера” (“God and
Faith”), is the
foundation of the
family’s moral and
spiritual legacy,
imposed and
declared by the
founding armiger.
The depiction of
Saint George in
the first quarter
was inspired by
Eastern Orthodox
iconography and
Western heraldic
standards. He is
shown armored in
Argent (silver),
mounted on a white
steed, and slaying
a partially
visible green
dragon with a
golden spear. The
dragon’s head,
slightly emerging
from the corner of
the shield, evokes
evil being pierced
at its source — a
gesture of
spiritual triumph
and divine
strength. The
details were
refined to avoid
over complication
while preserving
iconographic
fidelity.
The second quarter
presents a bird in
natural color
(Proper), perched
upon a mountain of
Azure (blue). This
symbol represents
the ancestral
migration journey
of the family. The
bird’s form was
chosen to suggest
peaceful
migration,
possibly
resembling a dove
or swift, evoking
freedom, distance,
and connection to
nature. The
mountain
symbolizes origin,
homeland, and
permanence.
The
third quarter
features a
traditional
Serbian peasant in
full folk costume,
including a gilet,
opanci (shoes),
and trousers,
standing affronté.
This illustration
honors the
family’s humble
and rural roots,
echoing the
culture of the
Balkans and
generations of
life close to the
land. The figure
was modeled after
19th-century
ethnographic
references.
|
The
fourth quarter includes a
right arm (dexter) in
plate armor holding a
sword upright. This
symbolizes justice,
strength, and the family’s
readiness to defend its
values. The sword was
drawn in a classic
straight-blade design with
no embellishments,
emphasizing clarity and
intent.
Above the shield is a
helmet surmounted by a
wolf’s head erased, in
natural color. The wolf is
a traditional Balkan
symbol of courage,
loyalty, and independence.
The stylized expression
reflects a protective and
alert nature, guarding the
shield and its meaning.
The family motto “Бог и
Вера” (Bog i Vera – God
and Faith) is inscribed
beneath the escutcheon in
Cyrillic script. It was
imposed by the armiger
himself and serves as the
core spiritual and moral
legacy of the family.
On the gonfanon, the
vertical division (per
pale) symbolizes the
balance between spiritual
devotion (Gules and the
Orthodox cross) and
martial readiness (Or and
the armed hand). The
wolf’s head, placed
centrally and erased
affronté, represents
vigilance, resilience, and
ancestral ties to the
mountainous regions of the
Balkans. The Orthodox
cross (cross with
additional horizontal bar
and slanted base) in gold
stands for faith,
tradition, and divine
protection. The armoured
hand grasping a sword
illustrates the family’s
steadfast defence of its
values, clarity of
purpose, and the readiness
to act when necessary. The
colour Gules (red) conveys
courage, sacrifice, and
strength, while Or (gold)
signifies generosity,
faith, and wisdom. The use
of Proper (natural
colours) for the wolf and
arm emphasizes
authenticity, heritage,
and a connection to
nature.
Assumed by personal right
and declaration, for use
by the armiger, his sister
Anita Todorović and her
direct descendants, as
well as his uncles Vladan,
Milan, Mile, Nedjo and his
aunts Milena, Zorica,
Velika, and all their
direct descendants.
Officially declared and
ratified under the motto:
Бог и Вера (Bog i Vera –
God and Faith).
The armiger is a member of the
Society of Serbian
Armigers and The
International
Association of Amateur
Heralds.
The arms have been
recognised by the Center
for Research into
Orthodox Monarchism.
A right to the arms also
includes the descendants
of the armiger's
great-grandfather,
Čedomir Todorović, from
his first marriage with
Mitra Lukić, all of whom
are integrated within
the family.
