The Castle refers to the Castle located near to where the armiger’s mother lived and grew up. The armiger has always enjoyed the music of the harp and this charge also alludes to the armiger’s native Ireland; the ship provides a reminder of the armiger’s grandfather who used to import marble from Italy. The Holy Sepulchre Cross recognises the armiger’s Knighthood in the order of that name.

Born in Dublin Ireland in 1930 and educated to Bachelor degree level in Ireland and presently residing in Canada the armiger is the recipient of The Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal, The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and The Sovereigns Medal for Volunteers-Canada for his community work..

The armiger enjoys the title of Baron Hoban within the imperial House of Vietnam, is a Knight Grand Cross of The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, Knight Commander with Star of Casa Real of Portugal, Grand Officer of The Imperial Order of the Dragon of Annam, Grand Officer of the Royal Order of the Crown of Hawaii, Companion of the Royal House of The Prince of Connacht, HRH The O' Conor Don, Knight Commander of The Imperial Order of The Lion of Ethiopia, Member of The Monarchist League of Canada, A Kentucky Colonel of The Commonwealth of Kentucky, Clan Head of the Clan Hoban Society (Clans of Ireland) and Companion of the Clans of Ireland Order of Merit.
