                                              Rune Nayes-McClurg

McClurg Family Badge:
A torch enflamed and two arrows in saltire point upward Or all grasped within a raven’s claw erased to sinister Proper.

Becker Family Badge:  Emerging from a barrel Proper banded Azure a racoon holding in its dexter paw a bunch of concord grapes Proper.

Mara is the daughter of Kelly Elizabeth McClurg (registration no. 0211) and Joshua Nayes.

The ravens transfixed refer to a Scottish story in which a widow's sons by three different men performed archery to show prowess with weapons for Robert the Bruce while he was on the run from the English. The brother's names were Murdoch, McKie and McClurg. The brothers joined The Bruce's army until he became Robert I, King of Scotland.

The arms are based on the arms of Frederick Henry McClurg (registration no. 0208) and differenced in base with a double cant for her name. First the use of Sanguine in base as the closest tincture to maroon (Mara Rune). Second the use of the Rune of Mara – reported to be the symbol of a Slavic goddess representing the death and rebirth of nature.
