The silver of the charges represents the armiger’s patience and compassion, the black of the field represents loss of family members and the pain resulting from it. The per chevron division of the field represents the family's strong Christian values and work ethics, the wavy lines of partition represent the armiger’s love of the ocean. The antlers represent strength and endurance; the armiger comes from a strong Irish-English lineage. The stag will not fight unless provoked. The five ostrich plumes were chosen to represent the armiger’s loyalty and faithful service.

Above the achievement is the motto Jaws of God, alluding to the Angel of Night from the Bible. Below the shield the motto Strength through Honesty.

The Armiger was born in Rhode Island to Daniel Dourant of Maine and Laura Salisbury of Massachusetts. Adopted by David Lange of French Canada heritage. The Armiger is an noted Culinary Artist with a talent for English Literature, Music, Philosophy, Art and Western History.
