The
International Heraldry
Society, sponsored by
The Armorial Register
Limited, publishers of
The International
Register of Arms, was
formed on the 10th June
2013.
One
of the primary aims of
The International
Heraldry Society is to
allow those proficient
in the art and science
of heraldry help educate
and guide those less
knowledgeable in the
design and creation of
arms and their correct
use.
It
is not at all necessary
to possess a coat of
arms to join the Society
but many members are
either armigerous or
intend to assume or
petition for a Grant or
Matriculation of Arms.
Members are of all ages
and scattered around the
world, the members are
interested in all
aspects of armory, some
being actively and
professionally engaged
in heraldic arts and
crafts and in academic
research.
Membership
of The International
Heraldry Society is free
of charge and open to
all.
The
base field of
the shield is
Vert for all
lands practicing
heraldry. The
shield Argent as
a common symbol
for heralds with
the compass rose
over all
symbolizing the
international
nature of
heraldry which
can travel in
many
directions
(figuratively and
actually).
The
armillary sphere
in crest
represents the
"loftier" goals
and roles of
heraldry
throughout it's
history and into
modern times.
The motto was chosen to
indicate that armorial
bearings, regardless of
their origin, are used
by right.
