The
motto, C'est Tout Ben,
is River Creole French
meaning "It's all good."
The armiger is the
youngest living speaker
of "Missouri French,"
also known as River
Creole French, and the
design of his arms has
been chosen to represent
that heritage as well as
his personal descent.
The fleur-de-lys
represent the armiger’s
French-Canadian roots,
the origins of his
ancestors who first
arrived as explorers of
the Louisiana territory
in the 1700's.

The
raccoon and the hyena
(chat sauvage and bouki)
are important animals in
Missouri French
folklore. The hyena
specifically was chosen
for its aggression, and
the raccoon for its
curiosity. The waters
represent a life grown
up along the Missouri
and Mississippi Rivers,
as well as representing
the armiger’s adult life
being spent on the
island nations of
Britain and Malta.
The golden anchors in
saltire represent the
receipt of the honorific
of 'Nebraska Admiral';
awarded, for his efforts
in preserving River
Creole French, by Pete
Ricketts, 40th Governor
of Nebraska.
