self-made structural
engineer throughout his
life. The counterchanged
tinctures represent a
flag waving in the wind.
The crest of a chess
knight argent represents
the armiger’s military
service in the Armored
Cavalry Regiment and
Combat Logistics Support
Squadron; it also
represents his
daughter’s love of the
game. The wreath is made
up of roses azure, a nod
to military service,
trefoils, an Irish
Christian heritage, and
ivy representing the
plant badge of the House
of Gordon.
