The Arms of John
                                                Alan Francis
                                                Buffenbarger

The shield was designed to reflect the bars in the flag of the United States of America with the division per pile representing the armiger’s grandfather, Harvey Buffenbarger, a self-made structural engineer throughout his life. The counterchanged tinctures represent a flag waving in the wind.

The crest of a chess knight argent represents the armiger’s military service in the Armored Cavalry Regiment and Combat Logistics Support Squadron; it also represents his daughter’s love of the game. The wreath is made up of roses azure, a nod to military service, trefoils, an Irish Christian heritage, and ivy representing the plant badge of the House of Gordon.

The armiger is a member of the International Society of Commoners Heraldry (arms registered 19 July 2018 registration number 2018160).
