The armiger's devotion to Our Lady is symbolized by the Azure field, upon which are placed three arrows, an allusion to the armiger's surname. The Argent chief represents the top of an altar, recalling the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass the armiger offers daily as a priest. The crosses moline represent Saint Augustine of Canterbury, the Benedictine who brought the Catholic faith to the armiger's English ancestors.
