Michel Jean Georges Pilette of Kinnear, Baron of Kinnear.

Arms: Gyronny of ten Gules and Argent, on each of the gyrons of the first a cross crosslet of the second, and on each of the gyrons of the second a rose of the first.

Crest: An eagle displayed Gules semée of cross crosslets Argent, the dexter wing Gules semée of roses Argent and the sinister wing Argent semée of roses Gules.

Motto: Flectas non Franges.

Badge: A cross crosslet Argent charged with a rose Gules.

Standard: Four yards in length with rounded end with his arms in the hoist and of four tracts Argent and Gules upon which is depicted his badge in the first and in the third compartments and his crest in the second compartment along with the motto in letters Or upon two transverse bands Sable.

Grant: Court of the Lord Lyon 12th January 1993 folio 100 in the 73rd Volume of the Register of All Arms and Bearing in Scotland.

Grant: Office of the Chief Herald of Ireland 25th March 1998.

Registration: College of Arms ref Scotland V page 73 12th January 1995.

The arms take elements from the arms of Hoole of Headington Manor viz: Barry of six Or and Gules in bend as many roses counterchanged. Crest: An eagle displayed Gules each wing charged with two roses and transfixed through the mouth with a tilting spear palewise Or. Motto: Flectas non Franges. The difference of a gyronny was chosen to reflect the family’s origin in Flanders; the family originates from Belgium and from France before 1530 (Normandy, Britany).

The armiger is a Knight of the Order of the Crown and of the Order of Leopold (Belgium) and a Commander of the Order Civil Merit (Spain), Knight of the Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem (Commanderie of Boigny). He is the holder of the Barony of Frenchpark (Roscommon Ireland) and a Lord of manors of Wootton Waven and Alpraham (England).

His son Antoine Theodore Pilette of Kinnear ygr has his own arms (differenced with a three point label Azure) matriculated on the 22nd July 1996 by the Lord Lyon king of arms; folio 15 of the 80th volume of All Arms and Bearing in Scotland and he will inherit the undifferenced arms of his father in due course.

The Pilette family has connections with the family of Hoole of Edgefield, Bradfield, once sheriff of Oxford and lord of the Manor of Headington (Oxford) and the Ward family, Viscounts of Bangor. The armiger is the great grandson of James Hoole of Headington Manor Oxfordshire, formerly of Bradfield, Yorkshire, CMG, JP, Colonel in the Army, whose arms and pedigree are on record in the College of Arms.
