The Arms of Godfrey
                                                Devlin, Baron of Gogar,
                                                FRSA, FSA Scot.

The armiger is a member of The Heraldry Society of Scotland and as such the symbolism associated with the heraldic achievement is important. Key aspects of the arms which have personal importance include:

Tinctures, Azure and Or represent his old school colours and are the favourites of the family.

Motto, 'Adapt to Succeed’ exemplifies the need to be flexible and adaptable in an ever changing environment to achieve one’s aspirations.

Helm, befitting the armiger's degree of Baron.

Crest, the Griffin, perhaps the greatest of mythological creatures, represents the qualities of bravery, courage and leadership to the armiger.

Charges, the main charge is a Celtic cross. Historically this is seen to represent the Ardboe High Cross in County Tyrone the heartland of the Devlin sept.  This reinforces his family's Celtic origins.

The armiger's heir apparent: James R.G. Devlin, Lord of Cowal No.0484
