The
double-headed
purpure lion is
an allusion to
the armiger's
father's surname
and to her
zodiac sign,
Gemini.
The Galero of a
Roman Catholic
Priest refers to
the armiger’s
great-grandfather,
Francisco
Salvado Leal,
who despite
being a Roman
Catholic Priest
produced heirs
with the woman
whom he loved
all his life; he
supported his
children
unconditionally
while never
failing his
duties as a
clergyman to his
parishioners.
His example and
unwavering
loyalty to his
family and
parishioners, in
a position and
time when such
behaviour was
heavily
criticised,
became a role
model for the
armiger.
The olive wreath
in the crest
alludes to the
armiger's
mother's village
while the book
to her career as
a public school
teacher. The
book cover holds
the title "Viver
é lutar", "To
live is to
fight", her life
motto.
