The
chick and chain
around it are a
canting
reference to the
armiger's family
name
"Pinto-Correia",
while the
gillyflowers
were chosen for
the armiger's
interest in
agriculture and
gardening, the
latter a passion
of the armiger’s
late mother.
As for the
embattled party
per chevron this
specific
division of the
field symbolises
not only the
armiger's
constant aim to
build a better
world to protect
his family, but
also his career
as a civil
servant in the
Regional
Government of
Madeira. The
embattled
division of the
field also
alludes to the
rise and fall of
his paternal
family business
interests and is
therefore a
reminder that
good fortune is
not constant and
protection of
one's wealth
should always be
tended to.
The centaur
alludes to the
armiger's zodiac
sign and the
beginning of his
career as a
teacher, a role
that later in
life he would
play again in
his children's
life.
Last, but not
least, the metal
Or and the
colour Azure
allude to the
colours of the
flag of the
Autonomous
Region of
Madeira where
the armiger's
was born and
raised.
