Standard:
In
the hoist the
Arms, in the
fly per fess
Argent and
Gules between
three
transverse
bands Argent
fimbriated Or,
thereupon the
motto Virtus
Per
Fortitudinem
Et Honorem,
two
representations
of the crest
alternating
with two
representations
of the badge,
the ends split
and rounded
the whole
fringed Gules
and Argent.
The
principal
tinctures of the
shield are red
and white which
represent the
colours of two
countries; Peru
where the
armiger was
born, and Canada
where he studied
and achieved his
Bachelor of Arts
in Law and
Justice.
The
stars allude to
the Vega star
which is the
brightest star
in the northern
constellation of
Lyra and the
armiger's last
name.
The
hawk's wing
represents
independence,
adaptability and
the ability to
overcome life’s
struggles. It is
also the
armiger's spirit
animal which
protects and
guides him to
always strive to
do what is
right.
|
The hawk of
the crest
represents the
same meaning
to the armiger
as the hawk's
wing as
described
above. It is
gorged and
standing on a
star coronet
which
symbolizes
honour, virtue
and respect,
qualities
which the
armiger
upholds in his
everyday life.
The
Parnassus
flower held by
the hawk is a
tribute to his
mother whose
last name is
Cumberland,
and found in
the arms of
Cumberland
County. This
is a symbol to
honour his
British
Heritage.

The
combination of the
Parnassus flower and
the cross (or star),
represents his parents
and his ancestors who
have influenced his
life. It is also a
symbol for his son to
remember and honour
his heritage.
The
motto, Virtus Per
Fortitudinem Et
Honorem, may be
translated as virtue
through strength and
honour; representing
the principal pillar
in the armiger’s life.
One must strive to
achieve virtue through
living an honourable
life with dignity and
unbending principles.
