The Arms Of Klaas
                                                Padberg Evenboer

The arms of the family Evenboer, assumed in 1985, are canting arms and derived from the hamlet Ruitenveen in the municipality Dalfsen, Netherlands.

The arms of the family (von) Padberg of Küstelberg in Sauerland, Germany, were granted: Brandenburg-Preusische Standeserhebung, Berlin, Germany, 11th January 1876, and 14th June 1882.

These granted arms resemble the arms of the old noble family von Padtberg, extinguished in the male line shortly after 1945, from which the former probably descends. Both these families are described in: Genealogisches Handbuch des Adels, Adelslexikon Band X, Limburg an der Lahn 1999, p. 125-126

The Padberg arms were also registered by the armiger in the Netherlands with the Fryske Rie foar Heraldyk, Genealogysk Jierboek 1990, p. 153.
The crest can be depicted in two ways:
1. an eagle’s wings with two bars Vair, and
2. issuing from a coronet Or five ostrichfeathers, two Or and three Azure.
Both arms were restyled and assumed in 1985 by the armiger before registration at the Centraal Bureau voor Genealogie. The artwork was done by Karel van den Sigtenhorst.

The genealogy of the Evenboer family starts with Hendrik Jans Evenboer, born Nieuwleusen 1756, farmer in Ruitenveen, son of Jan Henriks and Grietjen Roelofs, died Nieuwleusen 23th March 1840, married Nieuwleusen 6th April to Annigje Hendriks, born Ruitenveen 1758, died Zwollerkerspel 8th July 1814.

The genealogy of the Padberg family starts with Hans Padberg, born Niederschleidern, Germany in 1501, mentioned 1530 – 1551, farmer, held lands of the Monastery Glindfeld, ‘Kaiserliche Freischöffe’ (Juror), farmhouse Padberg in Küstelberg, Medebach (shortly before 1530).

Klaas Padberg Evenboer, born Emmen, Netherlands, 11th January 1953, son of Hendrik Evenboer (1920-1992) and Hendrikje Padberg (1924-2004), is married and has two daughters. The family resides in Ermelo, the Netherlands.

The armiger is an Associated Member of the Académie Internationale d’Héraldique (AIH), chief herald for the Nederlands Genootschap voor Heraldiek (NGH) and editor of the heraldic magazine Blazoen of the NGH.
