The
arms are composed to
signify cultural
origin, continuity,
and personal values.
The field argent
denotes sincerity and
clarity of purpose.
The eagle displayed
sable symbolises
vigilance, authority,
and constancy, and is
derived from the civic
heraldic symbolism of
the Comune di Sinagra,
from which the surname
is believed to
originate. The eagle
is beaked and membered
gules, denoting
courage and decisive
action, while the
claws, or talons,
sable signify
restraint and
disciplined strength.
The chief gules
represents honour and
active endeavour, and
is charged with three
Maltese crosses
argent, signifying
Maltese cultural
identity and
historical continuity.
The tincture argent
further denotes
integrity and ethical
intent, while the
number and arrangement
of the crosses
preserve heraldic
balance and clarity.
The crest, an eagle's
head erased sable
beaked gules,
continues the avian
symbolism of the arms
and signifies
watchfulness and
discernment. The
wreath of sable and
argent reflects the
principal tinctures of
the arms. The helm is
that of an esquire and
denotes private
armigerous status. The
mantling sable doubled
argent accords with
heraldic convention
and reinforces unity
of tincture.
The motto Arte e
Scientia expresses the
guiding principle of
skill united with
knowledge.
