armiger is the son of
Augustine Roche of
Dublin; son of William
Roche of Dublin; son of
Charles Roche of Dublin;
son of William Roche of
Dublin born 1806. This
branch of the Roche
family is believed to
descend from the Roche
family of Rye Hill and
Granagh Castle who are a
cadet branch of the
Viscounts Roche of
Fermoy created 1461. The
Anglo- Norman Roche
family came to Ireland
in 1169. The first
recorded spelling of the
family name Roche is
shown to be that of John
de Roches, which was
dated 1086, in the
Domesday Book
(Bedfordshire), during
the reign of King
William, known as "The
Conqueror", 1066 - 1087.
The motto, Mon Dieu Est
Ma Roche (My God is My
Rock) has been used by
the Roche family since
at least 1169.
The armiger is the great
great great great
grandson of Right
Honourable Jacob Poole
of Ballyroan who was
Lord Mayor of Dublin in
1802. The Poole family
originally from Poole
Hall in Cheshire and
came to Ireland in 1649
to Taghmon in Wexford as
Cromwellian settlers.

Reid a scion of the Reid
