The green heart on a golden field symbolizes the armiger's love of Nature. The three rings indicate the three territories, i.e. the Ligurian provinces of Savona, Genoa and Imperia where he had achieved the Nature Guide licence at the time of the Grant. The tower, a symbol of strength and elevation, here refers to the Babel Tower and represents the armiger’s bilingualism and his academic and professional qualifications, most of which deal with foreign languages and communication, and is echoed in the embattled line of the chief. The jewelled lizard (Timon lepidus), one of the symbols of the Ligurian fauna and the king of European lizards, is a sun and light seeker and symbolyzes the search for truth and also a sense of achievement. The motto, "Natura non facit saltus", is taken from Linnaeus and Darwin and here means that Nature does not usually proceed by leaps and bounds and that substantial improvement is more often the result of slow and constant evolution, perseverance and hard work.

The armiger is of Anglo-Italian origin. He was born in Savona (Liguria, Italy) in 1977, the eldest son of Luciano Raco and Julia Ann Stock and the brother of Bruno Lawrence Raco, pianist and musician. He attended the 1991 linguistic experimental course of the Istituto Magistrale Statale "G. Della Rovere" in Savona but was not intended for university study. However, he took a degree in Foreign Languages and Literature from the University of Genoa (110/110, cum laude), a first level master in I.T. and Communication Management (Aesseffe, Savona) and then went further with postgraduate study, becoming an English Language and Civilization teacher and a Special Educational Needs teacher (S.S.I.S., University of Genoa). He is also a professional Nature Guide with four language skills (English, German, French and Spanish) recognized by the authorities of three Italian regions (Liguria, Piedmont and Emilia-Romagna). These milestones have been achieved by building, stone by stone, on a foundation of skills and knowledge passed down by his family, to whom he is grateful.

The armiger is a lifetime member of the Royal Society of Saint George.
