The Arms of Michael
                                                Joseph Quigley

These arms were designed by the armiger in consultation with Lancaster Herald, based upon a grant of arms to a previous Quigley from another era. The tinctures were changed to represent both the traditional colours of the naval service as well as those of the Irish provincial arms of Connaught from whence the armiger's ancestors hail. The white saltire on a blue background recalls the naval signal flag for the letter "M", a reference to the initial letter of the armiger's first name. The crest is symbolic of the armiger's joint military service, air-land-sea, recalling his service in the Civil Air Patrol, the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy, as well as his service with U.S. Navy Special Operations. The naval crown represents his service as Assistant Naval Attaché to Malta and Belgium. The anchor is a Christian symbol of hope and the star-spangled wings represents the armiger's American heritage.

The armiger's badge is symbolic of his dual American and Irish citizenship.

The armiger was born on April 12th, 1970 in New York and is presently an officer in the United States Navy with prior enlisted service as a non-commissioned officer in the United States Army. The armiger has served as a peacekeeper in Bosnia, with U.S. Special Operations Command in Iraq, and aboard the USS MOUNT WHITNEY (LCC-20) during combat operations off the coast of Libya, as well as multiple tours in the Pentagon and throughout the Middle East and Europe. He has been awarded many medals and decorations, including the Bronze Star Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Joint Service Achievement Medal with three bronze oak leaf clusters; the Army Achievement Medal with a bronze oak leaf cluster; the Combat Action Ribbon; numerous campaign and service medals, the Navy's Information Dominance Warfare Officers Badge, and the Joint Chiefs of Staff Identification Badge
