These
are the arms of
the
Familienverband
Padberg (Family
Association
Padberg). It was
founded in 1832
in Germany, but
it dissolved
shortly after
1920. In the
sixties it was
revived by Carl
Friedrich
Padberg. The
first meeting
was held in
1967, 23rd
October, in the
ancestral house
in Kuestelberg.
In the summer of
1968 the first
international
‘Familientreffen’
was organised in
the village of
Padberg. The
Familienverband
Padberg is an
active
association that
organises family
gatherings on an
annual basis.
|
|
The
Familienverband
Padberg has
divisions in
Germany, the
United States,
Canada, the
Netherlands,
Switzerland and
Australia.
The coat of arms
of the
Familienverband
Padberg is based
on the arms used
by the family
(von) Padberg
from
Kuestelberg,
Sauerland,
Germany. The
arms were
granted, in
differentiated
form:
Brandenburg-Preusische
Standeserhebungen,
Berlin, Germany,
11th January
1876, and 14th
June 1882.
|
These
granted arms
resemble the
arms of the old
noble family von
Padtberg,
extinguished in
the male line
shortly after
1945, from which
the former
probably
descends. Both
these families
are described
in:
Genealogisches
Handbuch des
Adels,
Adelslexikon
Band X, Limburg
an der Lahn
1999, p.
125-126.
The arms were
drawn by
Tudor-Radu
Tiron.
The flag was
created by Henk
't Jong.
