The arms of Richard Gaudet

The Azure field represents both the country of origin of the armiger's ancestors, France, and the colour of the flag of the Province de Quebec where he comes from.

The Sailboat with its sail set represents the French migration and Acadian "Grand Derangement". The Maple leaf represents the armiger's Canadian nationality and the five poined mullet represents the Stella Maris , an important symbol for the Acadians. "Stella Maris" is a Latin phrase meaning "Star of the Sea".

The Fleur-de-lis is the stylized lily that is an ancient French symbol, and is also featured on the flag of Quebec.

The Snowy Owl is the Official Bird of the Province of Quebec and, to the armiger, represents the long and harsh winters of the North.

The motto "Stella Maris, Duc Meam Viam"  can be translated as Stella Maris guide my way.
