The Arms of Caryl
                                                Johannes Els Ph.D.

The armiger, who is a Freemason, chose the arms to represent the search for light and wisdom with the shield itself a protection from evil enforced by the armiger’s belief in goodness. The crest represents both the past and the present but also the desire to pursue a way of life without having to turn back.

The motto, a fructibus eorum cognoscetis eos, is found in Mathew 7:16 and translates to by their fruits ye shall know them. This represents a wish, by the armiger, to be judged by his own example.
