                                              Weikert

The family is a Burgher family that resided in Vienna. Josef served as a Captain of the infantry regiment N.16 in the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy in the last quarter of the XIX century. He was married to Barbara Winter and had a daughter, Olga. In the army, he befriended Captain (later: Colonel) Josef Cantarutti of (di/von) Campolongo, who married Olga in 1897 after obtaining a special marriage license as she was only 17 years old.

                                                      Cantarutti.

There is no grant of arms in existence; however, the arms are represented in a late XVIII – early XIX century silver seal and in a stone on Olga’s tomb.

The arms have been registered at the request of Daniele Scarpi, son of Josef and Olga’s only granddaughter; Captain Josef Weikert, was the father of Daniele Scarpi’s maternal great-grandmother.
